It sounds right to me: replace Australia Day with Lunar New Year, replace Kings Birthday with Eid, replace Melbourne Cup with Diwali, and add another National Day for aboriginal culture. With those public holidays, Australia feels more like the real Australia.

There are lots of countries that were former British colonies, but none of them use the day they became the colony to be their national day except for Australia. Having European heritage doesn't make you immune to colonial oppressions. It's not only the aboriginal people's fight.

'I shouldn't have done it': The parents who regret having kids
www.sbs.com.au/news/the-fee...

There is a difference between "I know what I am experiencing" and "I have a solution that helps me out of it". Acknowledging the feeling is only the start.
'I shouldn't have done it': The parents who regret having kids

If one is censured by a nation's Parliament for behaviour officially found to be "corrosive of trust in government", and is referred to an anti-corruption commission for misleading its Cabinet about the "crude and cruel" Robodebt scheme, how is one then eligible for said country's highest honour?

The form the politicians' derision takes shows they are either ignorant or lying. And neither is a qualification for government.
