It’s not just about what you remove (cars, noise, dirty air). It’s about what you add (people walking, a lot of bike parking, trees, outdoor dining, and room for kids to play safely). Amsterdam: 1986 and today.

Streets for people.

Out with the cool kids today & loved hearing them ask why the multimod lanes on Memorial don’t look like the ones at GA Tech. GDOT must recognize that consistent design provides wayfinding & safety all road users benefit from.

We’re gonna have to be honest that there will never be new transit in Atlanta as long as the same leadership at MARTA, the city of Atlanta, the Georgia Department of Transportation, and the Governor’s office have the same types of people leading them

Too often the intent of share the road is to give drivers a bye that choose unsafe driving habits & reduce LE work at the expense of others. After watching this driver cut me and a MARTA bus off & take over a multi mod path I’m not sure what really would have convinced them to stop other than LE.

Air pollution has dropped significantly in #Paris in the last 15 years. Mayor @annehidalgo.bsky.social’s leadership has traded car space for green space, safe bike space, kid space.. and traded pollution for people.

Good trade.

So many supposedly “progressive” Atlanta pols are quickly co-opted by the corporate-led regime.

Former Senator Fort stands out for not being co-opted, for fighting against corporate interests & for working & marginalized folks. It was a privilege to know him.

Rest in Power, Senator.
