Writing tip, particularly for #MMromance: Do a full ms search for the f-word and cut its frequency by half. Then cut it by half again. Not being a language prude, it'll just make your book much more readable. Every word is a chance for impact. Make them count.

When I was selling gay romance novels at Glad Day a decade back, I expressed alarm at how most were written by straight women. Reading more, I grew to see that alarm was and is sexist. But now I see people saying ONLY women can write m/m romance! Bizarre fighting. As always, read more ‘Nathan ⭐️
When I hear "there's no gay romance" "m/m was created by women" "romance is for women" I think of the number of author bios in the back of "Best Gay Romance" books, or magazines, especially the 90s, ending with notations of when those authors died and I get so fucking angry I cannot even tell you.
