You know what I just realized that's kinda tragic? We can't even "just Google it anymore". AI slop has invaded fucking everything such that most sites responding to a simple query are just slop-filled garbage that is going to take you on a wild goose chase.

Right so the EEPROM originally intended for the Radeon 7000 showed up, and I stuck the retail R9200 ROM on it and slapped it on this PC R9200 I failed to flash a couple years ago.
Now it works great and is getting picked up like a normal R9200 PCI would in the 9600. Sweet.

Fore I shut everything out for the night I decided to have my portable XP system (2010 polycarbonate MacBook) go up against the Shuttle in 3DMark01 SE.
Shuttle won obviously (because GT640) but the MacBook (with its GT320M) didn’t do half bad. Scored about in line with my 98 machine (FX5950 Ultra)

Fore I shut everything out for the night I decided to have my portable XP system (2010 polycarbonate MacBook) go up against the Shuttle in 3DMark01 SE.
Shuttle won obviously (because GT640) but the MacBook (with its GT320M) didn’t do half bad. Scored about in line with my 98 machine (FX5950 Ultra)

After doing some work (and finding a 1Mbit ROM on a trashed video card), I flashed it, transplanted it onto my Radeon 7000 and now it’s working without drivers loaded!

Power Mac 9600: works fine after some repairs
Power Mac G4 MDD: works fine (but needs 10.4 removed and replaced with 10.3)
Power Mac G3 B/W: “works” (boots from IDE DOM but I need to give it a SATA card)
Next:
Power Mac 6100
And a bunch of 68k pizza boxes
Power Mac 9600: works fine after some repairs

Saw a bunch of posts wondering how the App Store logo works (is it just sticks??), so I made a little 3D printed visualization of the 3 tilted app icons that come together to make it, it's really quite clever!

I would give…quite a bit to have one of those higher clock G3/G4 daughtercards for PCI Power Macs. I’m talking like the 700-800MHz ones.

I would give…quite a bit to have one of those higher clock G3/G4 daughtercards for PCI Power Macs. I’m talking like the 700-800MHz ones.

It took 11 years but T-Mobile finally, somehow, despite it all managed to get their shit together and actually lap Verizon in my city.
Their network started going to shit in 2014 and they swore up and down they were fixing it and in 2022 or so I finally said enough and jumped to Verizon.
