Took the painting I made last December to see @realgdt.bsky.social ‘s Frankenstein. We both wept. Happy I predicted Jesus’s side wound ♥︎

I wrote a sort of long and meandering essay about all of the really terrible things that have been happening in the world recently, and the way I’ve been using art/culture to think and feel my way through it

Feelings in Uncertain Times
An essay about the weight of it all, and using art as a language to understand our current realities. How do we understand our world when it is in the midst of coming undone?

It's been a rough week dealing with a family emergency. Unfortunately, we need a gofundme to help cover health expenses for my grandfather. If you can donate, we could really use the help. If not, please share our gofundme to help reach people who can. Thank you ❤️

I don't think I've cleaned this palette much (if ever) since college. Washing away this history of colors feels weirdly emotional.

I've been moving towards new brands of watercolor paints, so it's time to start fresh ✨

How might we promote our projects, events, campaigns, art, values, etc *beyond* social media?

There's no one magic key, but some friends and I did some brainstorming and skill-sharing. Hope it can useful to artists, musicians, organizers, small business owners, and beyond:
Promoting Our Projects, Events, and Values BEYOND Social Media
A guiding question for artists, activists, and community-builders: If social media did not exist, how would you share your art, promote your work, and/or communicate your values?

The bird flu is spreading to more than 50 mammal species and putting food supplies at risk.

H5N1 is airborne and spread by migratory birds, making it hard to control.

Despite culling millions of birds, the virus spreads, raising prices and increasing human cases.

This is a global health crisis.

I'm continually drawn back to the metaphor that as artists, a lot of us see our work as "planting seeds." But I'm curious about the difference between "scattering wildflower seeds as we skip through the meadow" and "planting crops with intention and care that can feed a community." More:
