#protip for #musicproduction. When #recording vocals for a fairly dynamic performance, if you have the option, try experimenting with different mic pres and you’ll notice that some mic pres have an inherent “compression” that could spare you from the risk of clipping a great vocal take.

Does anyone else relate to the relief I feel whenever I put on my headphones or in-ear monitors without listening to anything but the dampening of the surrounding sounds of my environment? Even the ambient noise in my house from my fridge, fans and HVAC fatigue my ears…

Happy #throwbackthursday! I picked up these Shure se535 IEM a few weeks ago and have been LOVING them! I’ve had my se215 for over a decade and they served me well, but these 535 are just a joy to listen to 😍 Anyone else use IEM that they recommend? #studiolive #musicproducer
