We have 3 different mic pre options to choose from in our studio; API 512c, Electrodyne 501, and the Millennia HV-3D. To my ears, the API sounds the most compressed out of the 3, with the Millennia being the most dynamic and the Electrodyne sitting nicely in the middle. They all have their uses.

I could never handle DJing. That’s a whole other level of loudness for long periods of time. You must have ears of steel! Thanks! I had a long day of mixing yesterday, and then a friend’s concert at night. I’m now enjoying some tea in silence with headphones on before I start mixing again.

Wow! That’s a lot of music! 😮 I work on music all day for a living. For me, I need to give my ears a break to keep them objective when I’m recording and mixing for clients. The ears feel like muscles to me, I work them out a lot, but I have to give them a rest so they can recover and get stronger.

I typically recommend the MPK mini to people if they want a very light and portable keyboard. It is very cost effective and useful. Good choice 👍

Very nice! Maschine is a lot of fun to use. For NI users, I highly recommend it, because of how easily it integrates with all their products. However, my favourite drum machine to produce on right now is the MPC Live 2. I would happily own both units.
