I haven't played "heating oil chicken" for a while, but I thought I had enough oil to get to December, and I....didn't. Was lucky enough to get an emergency delivery and to know how to prime the oil burner, which saves a restarting fee.

I made cilantro lime chicken for dinner tonight, and it's one of the easiest, most delicious dishes in my rotation, but I never think to make it.

Going to be parasocial as heck here, but I just learned that the cohost of one of my favorite YouTube channels (and a producer on "How Did This Get Made," Avaryl Halley, passed away last week. One of the funniest, most brilliant people on that site, she'll be missed. youtu.be/QcVbVT2bFoM?...

I’m bringing some new items over to Newburyport Art Association for their Winter gift shop today. I turned my ocean waves idea into ornaments and have some new vintage-inspired abstract Christmas cards that will be available for sale there. I also have an abstract piece in the gallery show!!

The appearance every year of giant Halloween and Christmas decorations on so many lawns shows that Americans have the desire to display large works of public art, but they're just shy about doing it on an individual level.

Starting on the holiday market items. First up, making my "ocean waves" painting style into ornaments. These are little 2" ones, but I have larger sized ornaments to come after these worked out pretty well.

I made a little variation to my moon series, and added some cat silhouettes to two of them. These are 12" round, and I really like them. Available now on my website: xingcat.bigcartel.com/product/cat-...

Moving my Moth stories to my main YouTube channel over time, and this is the most recent Moth GrandSlam I was invited to, telling a story about taking a chance as a young guy in the 80s. youtu.be/9Bt3UnCFaiY

The traffic from Massachusetts was incredibly bad, and it took almost three hours to get to Providence, but I’m here and set up at the Providence Flea and people already love the little ghosts!!

For the Halloween fair on Friday night and going into holiday fairs this winter, I'm experimenting with other styles of abstract landscapes. These are supposed to be sort of a winter/spooky/film negative sort of feel.

This Friday night, I'll be at the Providence Flea Market at Farm Fresh in Providence, RI, selling my little ghost guys and some other spooky art pieces, along with about 90 other artists, craftspeople, food artists, and flea vendors. Stop by, if you're in the area, and say hello!

I worked in 3 video stores through the 80s and the fact that things would be out of stock was such a great opportunity for all us video nerds to recommend all the independent, older, foreign, and just plain wild stuff to customers looking for something pretty basic. It was a whole culture.
"sometimes they just didn't have the thing you wanted" is a good thing, as was generally being out in the world and talking to people and maybe grabbing something new that looks weird on the shelf because they didn't have the thing you wanted that becomes your whole personality for a year.
Someone doesn’t remember how badly going to a video store sucked, and just generally how much worse things were in the 90s-2000s. Oh, it doesn’t work perfectly? Sometimes they just didn’t have the thing you wanted. We live in an era of unprecedented media abundance and it’s has spoiled us rotten.

You can like or not like any food that you want, and mocking anybody for liking or not liking any particular food is rooted in (at best) your own insecurities about your preferences and (at worst) classism and xenophobia.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

Hello, I’m Chloe and I’ve added these tiny but vibrant punch-packing original ink-dominated drawings to my art website as items to buy. I’m always grateful to those who share these posts. And when people buy them, well that’s just the best

40 years ago, my friend Christine and I created a fan-written video for a cable access tv project in high school. I found the Betamax(!!) tape a few years ago in Mom's attic, and had it transferred to digital video. Behold, my 16-year-old self's masterpiece! youtu.be/vOE42I0C_cw?...

I spent the morning hanging my weird little art pieces up at North Shore Arts Association in Gloucester. The “Synergy” show features works by over 50 artists from the area and runs from October 17-November 9. Stop by, see some great art and maybe buy something from me or another artist you like!

I finished up props for my most recent show, and also this quick request from another theater, who needed a double crust sweet pie and a tomato cheddar quiche prop for an upcoming show. I like how these turned out.
