Dick Cheney did more than anyone else to build up expansive and destructive executive branch powers in the wake of 9/11; he lived to see another president turn those same powers against his own daughter.

He should be a warning sign to the GOP today but too many of them are in the cult.

Well this actually explains A LOT.
my latest investigation for @consumerreports.org is based on months of reporting and 60+ lab tests of leading protein supplements

we found that most protein powders and shakes have more lead in one serving than our experts say is safe to have in a day (🧵)

Every newsroom needs that one person who will say "Whoa, whoa, wait a second," when everyone else is excited about something dumb.
As newsrooms shrink and some of the most experienced journalists head for the door, it's obvious lots of newsrooms are now missing that person.

On Monday, RFK posted a rambling video on the HHS X account showing a series of graphs and directly stating that vaccines have had minimal impact on human health and saving lives.

Today, in response, we brought our own graphs.

We will not let his dangerous nonsense go unanswered.

My latest in my fight against the Washington Post.

I’ve filed a grievance against the Post through the WaPo Guild— and have sent a letter to Washington Post challenging my firing.

Proud to have @normeisen.bsky.social + @katiephang.bsky.social in my corner.

For folks trying to figure out if they can get a Covid shot: I got mine yesterday with no hassles. I just walked into my regular pharmacy and asked for one. I didn't have a prescription; I didn't get any questions about special medical concerns. I just asked for one and got it as usual.

If the right *truly* believed Charlie Kirk was a defender of free speech and someone who was fine with dissenting opinions, they wouldn't be engaged in a massive campaign to punish anyone who didn't "mourn him properly."

They clearly know all of that is bullshit. Only the media was conned.

I don't mean to be contrarian, but I think I'm going to have to just keep singing "Speed it up a notch."
Ok its ‘feed it off an aux, speak, grunt no strength, the ladder start to clatter with fear fight down height, wire in a fire representing seven games, a government for hire and a combat site’.

Went ahead and updated my map of cities with higher crime than D.C. to accommodate the two new states from the Deep South who are sending troops to the capital. In the five states there are 64 cities, home to 1.7 million people, that had more crime in 2024 than D.C.
