What happened to the 10 GOP Senators who should be standing up for the Constitution? The press says they're afraid of being primary-ed. Doesn't it seem just as likely, at this point, that they're afraid of something more sinister? Any potential renegade Republican would face an unchecked mob.

The whole USAID defunding drama is traceable to one lying idiot with a rightwing agenda and dubious claims to authority.
How an ex-State Department official fueled Elon Musk’s attack on USAID
Mike Benz appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast in late December to discuss USAID, spurring Musk’s first mention of the agency.

A few of the deep state liberal bureaucrats affected by Trump's freeze on federal spending (and the surreptitious closing of Medicaid's online systems). Caught here plotting how to stymie Trump's voter-approved mandate for change.

He's "not a fascist?" Trump authorizes and excuses violence against his political opponents; he advocates for a national interest, free from any moral or legal constraints; he openly talks of suppressing free speech and other civil liberties. If this isn't fascism, then what is?

If you lived in St. Louis over a certain time, you should know what a stunningly inept, mean-spirited, and disingenuous person Ed Martin is. Almost universally reviled, even as he won over Phyllis Schlafly in her Norma-Desmond stage (while alienating her family). An extraordinary pick.

Neither the Fraternal Order of Police nor the National Police Association has criticized Trump's pardon of the Jan 6 rioters. They HAVE supported the legislation to deport non-citizens who assault police officers.

Precisely the pattern, as also seen in other autocratizing countries.

And what is another independent source of information?

Universities.
One consistent pattern: independent sources of information must be brought under partisan control, through delegitimation or intimidation. So you have the people who brought you Project 2025, Libs of TikTok and Musk going after Wikipedia www.citationneeded.news/elon-musk-an...
