Claudette Clovin was the first to protest segregated seating by refusing to give up her seat on a Montgomery Bus on March 2, 1955. As a dark-skinned, pregnant teenager, leaders initially overlooked Clovin. Keep her memory alive. Such bravery in challenging Jim Crow should be remembered.

For the first time in far too long, I sat down for an entire hour last night and read a book for my own entertainment. It felt good to flip those pages and sip my elderberry tea. I don't have very much joy in my life overall, so that hour really meant a lot.

Name cycles are so fascinating to me. When I was in school in the 90s and 2000s, there were so many kids named Jessica, Ashley, Brandon, John, etc. I don’t think my kids have any classmates with those names. Idk a Brandon under 35 😂

I can’t believe how stupid everything is
I'm doing something different with food for Christmas this year. I don't feel like cooking a bunch of stuff and eating the same food we literally just ate a month ago. So, I am gonna do a crabcake dip, a beef dip w/ chips, veggie tray, smoked chicken wings, cookies, deviled eggs, and meatballs.

I don't have a lot to hold onto right now. I'm pretty exhausted from life being so chaotic and busy. I feel largely unsupported and uncertain about my relationships with everyone around me. The world continues to spiral into a dark, sad hole. I just don't see how I can continue going on this way.
