A little ATEEZ #WIPwednesday snippet from my #FicYourFall project. Hongjoong and San are trying to connect with a mystery man... starting with a name.

EXCERPT:

“How about a name, hm? Or are you gatekeeping that one?”

The man’s gaze darts toward San at the question, suspicion and fear bright in his odd, silver eyes.

San holds his hands up in surrender.

“It doesn’t have to be your name,” he says easily. “Just something you’re comfortable with us calling you. Since you clearly don’t like ahjussi.”

The man’s face is oddly expressive, despite all of the hair and dirt obscuring it. His eyes roll, but he clearly contemplates the idea before writing out, Bait – that’s what they call me.

“Bait. You mean like… a lure?” San asks with a scrunch of his nose. “Something used to—to catch something else? That kind of bait?”

Hongjoong can’t help the disgusted look he shoots San’s way. He sees his unease reflected in San’s dark eyes. What kind of dehumanizing—

The man taps the paper. That’s what they call me.

“Okay, but you want us to call you that?” Hongjoong asks, because he can’t find it in himself to agree to that at all. Screw that.

There’s just no way Left Eye didn’t know about Bait. No way that he wasn’t up to his eyeballs in whatever led to this poor man being locked up down here. The old man’s lucky he’s dead right now, or— Hongjoong takes a steadying breath and sits down on the floor, just beyond the edge of the circle.

“No objection from me,” he says gently, “if you want to be called literally anything else.”

Time for wip wednesday. Here have Yoongi and Yijeong being distressed over glasses. If you're wondering what this is from you'll just have to wait and see (or take a wild guess based off of recent fics revealed in Agust D Fest)

"I need to ask you a question and it’s going to sound incredibly stupid but I need you to not laugh at me.”
Yoongi looks up from the soup he’d been cooking. Yijeong is staring at his hand, brow furrowed.
“Of course.” Yoongi puts down the spoon he’d been stirring and gives Yijeong his full attention.
“Are any of these glasses mine?” Yijeong holds up his hand where he has 3 pairs of black glasses. “I found the first one on the bedside table and thought yah these are probably mine but then found 2 more pairs in the bathroom and now I don’t know.” He pulls out one pair, squints through the lenses and then holds them out to Yoongi. “Well I think these are Jungkooks because the prescriptions really strong.”
Yoongi takes the glasses from Yijeong and holds them up to his own face. When he looks through the lenses everything distorts terribly and goes fuzzy. “Yah, definitely Jungkook’s.” He sets them down on the counter. “Can I see the others?”

“Yah.” Yijeong hands over the glasses. “You’d think I’d be able to remember if glasses are mine or not but I have so many pairs because I keep leaving them in places.”
Yoongi glances over the 2 pairs in his hands. They’re both black and Valentino. “Mayber they’re both mine?” He says with absolutely no certainty. He also has multiple pairs of glasses and they tend to wander around the apartment, his studio, and on occasion even Yijeong’s apartment.
“I thought that too for a second but then I remembered I bought some Valentino frames too.”
With mounting dread Yoongi tries on one pair and then the other. “I think these ones are a little weak so maybe they’re yours?” He holds out the pair in his left hand.
This just seems to distress Yijeong more. “I thought the same thing. I thought they were more likely yours. Shit do we have the same prescription? Is that one of our old pairs?”

"Right, okay, listen, you can't judge," Namjoon said suddenly as he flipped through another book curiously. It was a new one that Yoongi hadn't vetted yet, but the publisher was reputable for their magical guides.
"Oh?" Yoongi forced humor back into his voice to match Namjoon's levity. Now was not the time to dwell on things things he wanted but couldn't have.
"Honestly, I came in because my gym bag is cursed. My socks keep disappearing."
Affection burst through Yoongi as he tried to shop his shoulders from shaking with his quiet laughter. He loved his ridiculous friends so much. They might literally be cursed to be stuck with each other, but they were a gift he never wanted to return.
"Are you sure you aren't just leaving them at the gym, and if you ask they'll have a lost and found full of your smelly socks?"
"No, Yoongi," Namjoon said, stressing the syllabus in his name and dragging out the last letter. "This is way too frequent to be anything other than targeted."
"Someone has targeted your gym bag to steal your socks?"
"Yes, and it's really frustrating."
"Right," Yoongi drawled out. "Do you want a charm for your bag? A full counter curse? What are you looking for that you wouldn't be able to produce yourself?"
"I was hoping a protection charm would work, actually," Namjoon said as he put two books down on the front desk. "I could just leave it in the bag and it would be fine."
