Poet. Horror writer. Macabre. Ghosts. Supernatural. General weird stuff. I never know what the story is going to be until it's done.
My little chicks are doing good!
There's something magical
about letting nature
do its thing
in a world where everything
is controlled.
No incubator.
No automatic feeders.
No cages.
Just a hen, eggs,
21 days of sitting,
and then life.
If only everything,
could be this simple,
again.

Ever since I left Facebook in March, I have come to realize two things.

First, I miss my gardening groups where we shared pictures and gave each other advice.

Second, I don't miss the drama, the political arguments, cat photos and pictures of everyone's dinner.

Second outweighs the first.

Well, tomorrow is the day it begins! I sure hope this works out and I'm able to finish this to the end. Can I really reverse diabetes by losing a bunch of weight? I hope so. I'm tired of feeling like crap all the time.

DAY 2
Welcome to day 2 of my 180 days to reversing my health challenge. Day one was the decision to do it where I recorded my weight, calculated my BMI, measured my midsection and made my introduction bl…

Hiding bodies requires good equipment!

Ever have one of those mornings where you wake up and your creativity is just on fire? I love those days! Today's WordPress writing prompt was "What is your favorite name brand?" and I couldn't help myself.

I finished my first chapter 1 in 15 years yesterday. I've outlined several books and started many chapter 1's, but could never like them enough to keep them. Hopefully I'm moving away from just poems and short stories! (Not that there's anything wrong with that. I just want to write a novel!)

How many of you use Substack or Medium or both? Are they worth the effort? I started a Substack today and was curious to what your experience was with one or the other.

Did you wake up older one day and realize the writing landscape of the world had completely changed and you have no idea of how to navigate it now? That's what happened to me after my stroke. Here's my story about it.

I really don’t know what I’m doing here. I read posts here on Medium and click on profiles and subscribe when I see something interesting…

I had a little horror fun today. Love is a finicky thing.

Here's something funny. I clicked on the trending button for NFL draft. The first 10 posts were about the Cardinals at the pope funeral and pictures of red birds. I guess BlueSky doesn't know the difference between them and the Arizona Cardinals.

Scars

I knew the stories
of her life
by reading her scars
like brail.

One by one,
some long,
some short,
each, a word to spell.

Some on her skin,
some, deeper in,
all together,
a story to tell.

It's raining. Again. We've received about 15" over the past week. (10" alone Sat. night). Even the lightest of rains now flow down the yard because there's no where for it to go. <sigh>

I've written 3 rain poems this week. I think I'm going straight into my crime novel today.

What were you
put on the planet
to do?
We are all here
for a reason,
are we not?
What is your reason?
Find it, and smash it.
Be the best version
of your reason
there has ever been.
It's that simple, right?
Music. Yes.
Artist. Writer.
Accountant?
Are you sure?

In my effort to keep my feed as politically free as possible, these kind of starter packs are a life savor!
Let’s keep words alive, for the love of poetry 🙏🏻

It's raining again.
I want to sit on the benches
and listen to the birds.
Rock in my hanging chair.
Sway in the hammock,
watching sun rays filter
through the trees.
But for now,
I sit inside and wait,
and listen to the rain
tell me to be patient.

I'm not Catholic
or even remotely
religious
but I can feel
the sadness of many
across the world
and their ache
from the loss
they are waking up to
this morning.

RIP Pope Francis.

Good morning. I'm up super early this morning. Instead of 9 am and staying up until midnight or later, I'm going to try 5 every morning. Have coffee. Start writing by 6.

Ever since I retired, my writing has suffered. I think because I woke up early my entire life. #amwriting

What's left of my drive after 10" of rain in one hour last night. I had to park on the hill and walk to the house.

Hi everyone. I started my account over and I'm doing this one 100% NOT political. Just my interests only. I'm through with politics. (Well, as much as I can be.)

Anyway, looking forward to this new account! Hope you all have a good one.
