Hello everyone, I'm trying to actually build a platform beyond just occasional social media posts.

This is the kind of topic I haven't seen anyone else talk about, so here's my take. I'd appreciate you checking it out!

My fellow Cishet white dudes: It's going to be very easy to put our heads in the sand the next two years and just look away for our own well being and sanity. But we can't just look away. Our trans friends need us. Our queer friends need us. The women in our lives need us. They can't win this alone.

Well, I thought I was mostly a pantser, so I'm trying the plotting method.

I wrote out a plot of my first chapter in *as much detail as possible* and...

Guys, its over 500 words. The outline is over 500 words!

Oh dang. Still haven't quite gotten up to where I want to be as far as words per day, but I thought I was around 54k total when I'm actually over 56k.

"Don't you find it strange that your town has wells dug at every intersection with bright lamps hanging from them?"

"Not at all. We like our streets well-lit."

The blessing of the fantasy writer is to be able to come up with a world full of limitless stories.

The curse of the fantasy writer is to be unable to tell them all.

After struggling to write for most of the year, I finally had one of those sessions that felt like divine inspiration, where there was emotion that the words flowed.

We've seen dwarves be portrayed as "sturdy and serious" so often in fantasy it's pretty much assumed.

But what if we went the other way? Leaning into the crafting nature and make them super ADHD like "ahhhh new inventions! What that? I had that idea last month, I'm bored with that"

It's been a long week.

Rest here, weary writer and artist.

You deserve it.🍀

Remember #writingcommunity, most thi gs have been done, it's how you do it that's the fun part.

Dragons taking over after the age of the gods is common. But it's how the dragons fell from power that will make people say "wtf" in my lore.

I dreamed up a story as a kid that I've since described as "Aragorn from LoTR, but as a dragon."

I more or less abandoned the story since, but after a drop of inspiration snowballed into whole chunks of history and lore, I realized I could find a wway to make it work in my current world

Other #fantasy writers:

When worldbuilding, do you think of a problem that you could easily fix with a Tolkien/D&D-esque solution but think "nah, that's too easy and common. I need something that feels at least a little creative and fits my world?"

Me: *Wrote a short story*

Reader: wow, cool "four horseman" reference.

Me: ...yes...that was completely on purpose because I'm a genius, uh hu, yep...

#fantasy pet peeve:

Necromancy and resurrection are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. Necromancers simply puppet the meat sack, they don't bring anyone back to life.

The problem with critical thinking is that everyone thinks it's something everyone else should do while most people find it conveniently leads to opinions they already had.

Please don’t sleep on the new regime; they are wasting no time implementing indoctrination in our schools to further rot our country from the inside.

As for me and mine, they can fuck all the way off with their mandate, but if they need the assistance I’m always happy to help them choke on it.
