Hi to all the new folks! My spouse and I, along with our children, live in rural Virginia where we raise goats, rabbits, & chickens (& sometimes hogs) as well as most of our own produce to provide our family with clean food while minimizing our impact on the earth. #SmallFarmLife
Finally getting around to streaming this! Pizza, wine, and Ian's (holiday) show 🎵

Hey @weeklyshowpodcast.bsky.social ~44-48 million in the U.S. have experienced long Covid. Risks increase with each new reinfection. Political leaders are dismantling public health more & more each day.

I'm a big comedy fan but how is it funny to punch down to people who wear masks in 2025?

When I'm crawling under the house to run ethernet, maneuvering my body under/around duct work, pipes, wires, and fallen insulation, I feel like I look just like Catherine Zeta-Jones in that Entrapment scene with the lasers. Not too far off...

If there’s one part of the Constitution and its Amendments that everyone in the US understands and holds sacred, it’s the First Amendment. Free speech may be the only value we all agree on.

If you tell us something was censored, no matter what it is, we will trip over our feet running to see it.

One of these days I'll make a proper baguette. Until then, it's just pain d'pénis 🍽️🥖

This is a nice donation, but I’m old enough to remember when universal school meals was our nationwide policy across the United States of America, way back in the early 2020s. We can and should do that again.

Solstice sunrise and sunset over the farm 🌱

May the longer days ahead give us all hope for a better year.

Welp the google AI got a few things wrong (we were definitely NOT a Christian music group...) but I'll happily take songwriting credits and the associated royalties. Anyway, some joy through your ear holes from a much younger me and a few of my friends.

Ugh... Heat pump wasn't working, outdoor fan wasn't blowing, just pumping air over the aux heat coils. Tested all wires outside and under the house, everything seemed ok. Went back inside and discovered the google thermostat had lost knowledge of the o/b wire when power surged the other day 🙃

I was told we were low on baking powder, so there's another 4 lb container on the way from Costco (the one pictured isn't even opened yet...) I guess we're making a boatload of cookies this weekend 🍽️

I knew Mavis Staples had released a new album but I hadn't gotten around to listening to it yet. Thank you, Jason, for putting this on my radar. Excellent album, excellent review as well.

Follow Jason for some more music. I'm excited for the rest, especially if this one came in at number 10!

Listening to Ian's show while cooking dinner increases the taste factor by at least 10%. Trust me, I once was a scientist.

Casey hates the fact I use an android device, but for those of y'all who use an apple one this is a pretty cool app he built (and it's the app of the day, I guess that's a big deal...)
Americans! Take a look at the App Store before the day is up.

A fun holiday tradition where we load the kiddos up in the minivan and drive into town to see the lights! Free (minus the cost of gas...), fun, and festive.

Supposed to drop down to 17F/-8C overnight with a few inches of snow projected so we'll see if these kale plants can hold on. Hedging my bets by harvesting a bunch for dinner later just in case... 🌱
