Decent manager but never the right fit for Utd’s structure - & he’s already turned us down once.

I’ve seen plenty of ‘INEOS just want a yes man’ posts

They want a head coach who can work in the structure, yes.

What’s the benefit in getting a manager who ‘says it how it is’ then gets sacked?
Thomas Tuchel is set to stay on as England head coach after the World Cup this summer.

The German’s contract was due to expire following the tournament, but he is now expected to sign an extension that will take him through to the European Championships in 2028.

I’ve had a cold for 10 days.

It started on an 8, began to get a bit better up to Monday, but now it’s on a 10.

I don’t expect any sympathy but I think it’s important that you know.

How would he know?

ANSWER

Senna Lammens games / goals conceded for the mighty reds.

Bonus point, name the teams he has kept clean sheets against so far.

I was always of the opinion that the Ruben Amorim experiment was a mistake.

It sounded too risky. And the concerns of other top clubs who decided not to go for him proved spot on.

But. My preference post EtH was Thomas Frank.

So it shows how much I know.

Don’t even think about it Jim.

This is not a new debate or observation.

But fuck me.

I don’t like West Ham (a).

Didn’t wear any of them today lads.

Very much my bad.

Really chuffed for Sesko.

He’s going to have to bide his time, but there’s a player there.

A bit relieved.

A bit gutted.

A bit frustrated.

We. Move. On.

The lineup will need to change tonight.

And that makes me nervous.

The goals conceded with Ugarte on the pitch vs Casemiro stat makes me want to recall Toby Collyer from Hull for one night only.

Hold me.

I just want that lad to get his haircut tomorrow, from reasons other than his style, comfort and dignity.

Wife’s been WFH today so I popped MUTV on in the background.

Full 90s on a loop.

“Do you know what?” she said when I got home…. “Bryan Mbeumo is quite an attractive man.”

She’s not wrong.

The reason Ruben Amorim didn’t manage to win 4 games-in-a-row was because winning games wasn’t his primary objective.

Teaching and embedding a specific style/system/formation was the primary objective.

Results were sacrificed in pursuit of the above.

And INEOS signs-off on this approach.

I think I’m in love. Again.
February 9, 2026 at 1:39 PM
Nervous about tomorrow’s game.

Quick turnaround (having been used to a week of prep).

Managing Shaw’s and Casemiro’s minutes.

West Ham fighting for their lives.

Arsenal win at the weekend keeps the gap at 12 points, putting the pressure back on us.
February 9, 2026 at 9:10 AM
Completely agree. I’ve said the same.

As a fanbase, some of us are still stuck in a ‘give the manager 3 years’ loop.

Like you say, not that complicated.

Football structure remains constant regardless.
If Carrick gets Champions League football, offer him the job on a one-year deal. It doesn’t have to be as complicated as everyone thinks. One year means it isn’t as messy to part ways if it goes wrong, and if he does well they can talk about extensions. Can’t see him saying no, to be honest

Amad is magic.

Not been his best season, stats wise, but he’s so important to this team.
February 7, 2026 at 10:56 PM
Imagine if it wasn’t personal, between Amorim and Mainoo, and that was actually his football judgement.

🥴
