I see a lot of people freaking out over game systems and #DND in particular. I play a lot of games and we are 99% rules as written so players can learn to play with other people too. But the big 2 for 30+ years are 1)Have Fun and 2) Enjoy time with friends. The game is just a backdrop.

My apparently hot take on D&D lately is that I enjoy it without using many house rules. My primary group has been together at its core for almost 30 years and our main thing is having fun with friends. The game doesn’t matter it’s just an excuse to hang out.

I am confused by so many posts I am seeing like this. Are people not RolePlaying in their Roleplaying Games? So much of our games now and historically do not revolve solely around combat. It’s definitely a portion and get more rules because it’s more mechanical than roleplaying, but, WTF?
Dipshits complain about this stuff because it's "woke" but they real reason anyone should complain about it is that D&D The Game fundamentally does nothing to support cozy bucolic fantasy romance, it's a game that is 90% systemized around dungeon fights
What does any of this shit have to do with D&D, which is a game about going somewhere dangerous (eg dungeons) to fight scary monsters (eg dragons)?
What relevance does all the twee art like this Hasbro keeps churning out have for a game that is fundamentally about peril, violence and adventure?

I picked the worst time to follow @cathygellis.bsky.social She shares so much useful information that helps me understand the firehouse of sewage policies happening right now. My disdain for social media is overwhelming, but getting these explainers from good sources at least helps my perspective

@twins.com can you start posting on here so I have some baseball content to follow and we can get more engagement. I will happily evangelize across other platforms to push for followers, but I would like to give them something to see.
