did you know that New Year's Resolutions began as a tradition more than 1,100 years ago in the Dark Ages, when the put-upon people of Askham Bog made solemn promises not to eat each other during times of strife.

It's also where the term "cheat day" (or "swick dæg" as they would say) came from.
