Out here to educate people and yell at jerks
I say this as a Montrealer with protest in my blood.

Your ability to feel safe at a #protest is the product of a hard-won and still unfinished fight.

Those rallied around you with masks and burner phones, not filming for insta? They are also protecting you.

Be mindful.

Another day, another letter sent from my desk to an MP.

I was a staffer at a heritage location. The proposal to prioritize digital tools over staff is deeply shortsighted.

Florida is proposing that 14yo should be able to work at any hour of the day or night, as long as they're homeschooled.

Sure...can't see any possible way that could go horribly wrong. Why have more than a 7th grade education when you can start working at a factory full-time instead!

Had a great convo this week with a friend - They shared that they WANT to be informed, but they're hesitant. They shared that having not gone to school or even read a book in over a decade, they were worried about their ability to "keep up" with complex info that felt so overwhelming

Can't wait to start my massive garden this spring, but not in a "women shouldn't vote or read books" kinda way

Small acts of kindness are powerful forms of resistance. In a world that often feels overwhelming, helping a neighbor or supporting a cause contributes to meaningful change.

I spent my lunch break helping a neighbor shovel out their snow-packed driveway. Keep the momentum going.

The Quebec government's plan to deploy AI in schools to analyze students' personal data—without parental consent or even public transparency—is a waving red flag.

We need to stop dismissing AI like a fun techy kids' toy and start demanding accountability and asking harder questions.

Parents of children in the Centre de services scolaire des Mille-Îles feel blindsided by the sudden notice that their children’s private information will be fed into AI, with no option for consent. They are questioning whether this technology is ethical.

If your cybersecurity plan is just “I have nothing to hide,” congrats, you’ve already lost. It’s not about you personally—it’s about journalists, organizers, and vulnerable people who need safe digital spaces. Take security seriously. It costs nothing to care.

Got 5 spare minutes today while you're doom scrolling?

Pop open the settings on your phone and check how many apps have access to your location.

Think about if Candy Crush or your music app REALLY need to know where you are.

Then do some button-tap house cleaning.

In 2025, we are done with saying "I'm just not *political*".

Not in your friend groups. Not with your family. Not on dating apps. Not in the books you read or the media you consume.

We are looking up, around, and inside ourselves. We are holding people accountable. We are learning.
