A touchscreen can’t answer a child’s limitless questions or share Indigenous knowledge with nuance. In a time when Canadians’ connection to nature is already tenuous, replacing staff with screens will further divide people from the natural world—the opposite of Parks Canada’s mission.

As a scientist and an advocate, the idea that anyone thinks they don't belong in critical conversations because even reading the news feels out of grasp pains me. Learning is learning, period. You don't get brownie points because you absorbed bigger words.

* Use AI tools - You can take any article and prompt the tool to give you a summary. I've even used prompts like "explain this to me like I'm 5". If scrubbing out the jargon helps, go for it!

*Podcasts - Podcasts can be like veggies. Sneak one into your morning commute or errand run
