Just finished my latest OTB game - in general I had much the worse of a draw against a 2327 ECF opponent (though I have a sneaking feeling the final position might have been winning for me)

very unusual tactic imo, both beautiful and hard to find. giving away your most secure and important attacking piece goes against every instinct - and just as i was typing that Sindarov played it. extremely impressed.

alex's writing on brook is fantastic. i was trying to figure out what it reminded me of, and i think it's people, very much including his peers, reacting to peak morozevich - the combo of 'this is all wrong' and 'he's won all his black games again, somehow'. long may it continue is all can add.

Just had this in blitz - no tactics, White’s just a piece up. But it struck me how *ugly* the position is. Ever had a winning position where all your pieces make less sense than they do here?

Listening to @fide.bsky.social and @chesscom.bsky.social while playing bad blitz. Thought JJ might like this ending (that I lost) - what’s Black’s only route to equality?
