Transforming thermal generation by hybridizing with thermal energy storage to provide flexible, low-carbon support for renewable energy.
“Let me tell you about immigrants in this country. Nobody believes in the American dream more than them,” Cavazos said in his remarks.” The immigrant should be celebrated, treated with dignity and allowed to work and provide for their families.”
The economic disruption/sabotage of deporting millions of workers at time of near full employment is only just beginning to be felt.

Happy Thanksgiving.
Photo taken by my uncle Rich, who is reflected in the doorway behind the subjects: the turkey, my grandmother and mother. Probably taken in the 1940s. Turkeys were smaller then.

Just curious why FAA is curtailing commercial airline traffic instead of private aircraft at controlled airports. Why can't Musk, Bezos, Kash Patel, and others ground their jets and fly commercial to alleviate stress on ATC? Maybe @jfallows.bsky.social has a thought?

Remember the good old days of Trump the First, when during the pandemic all we had to worry about was dying or not being able to comfort our dying friends and family. Trump II has brought us inflation, government shutdown, loss of health care, starvation of millions, and war in the streets.

Private (privatized) army? Loyal to the Constitution and the People or loyal to who pays you?
The DOD accepted an anonymous $130 million gift from a wealthy donor to help pay military salaries during the government shutdown.

The department would not release any additional details about the unusual move.

White House and military officials will not say who the donor is or whether the gift has been properly vetted.

At the recent CEATI Strategy & Innovation Conference, the keynote was on AI adoption by utilities. My question concerned Responsibility, Accountability (license revocation), & Liability (insurance cover); in particular, how can an Engineer in Responsible Charge know that a LLM has not hallucinated?

This is a feel good fantasy for Californians. As much as I agree that DJT is acting as an abusive spouse, we have to stay for the kids and try to restore liberty and law to our fellow citizens throughout the United States.

Why can't the phone itself manage charging to extend battery lifetime? Oh right, planned obsolescence. No gift link, because the very concept that users should do this instead of the $1000 handheld supercomputers with AI is infuriating.
