Another variation is "I just think kids should get assessed before they medically transition" — again, every relevant medical body already has these standards and all evidence indicates assessments are taking place in practice.

The Supreme Court case tomorrow is fundamentally not about gender affirming care, it's about whether or not trans people have any protections under the 14th amendment. A loss in this case would greenlight a torrent of explicitly discriminatory legislation without much, if any judicial recourse.

I see a lot of concern in yuri spaces for male gaze when it comes to basically anything with on page sex and quite honestly I'm more concerned about the opposite. the kind of male gaze that sees women as too pure to even think about hand holding is a much more insidious form of objectification.

Zephyr actually fought previous attempts to ban her. This was republicans not wanting to face another public struggle rather than them suddenly respecting trans rights.

The New York Times purposefully took the words of trans folks out of context to push a anti trans narrative. This isn't even the first time this week they've been shown to do that. This is a consistent issue with them.
It is notable that the NYT is repeatedly accused of taking words out of context to create the most anti-trans narrative imaginable. For reference, this is the way Heng-Lehtinen's words were presented in the NYT story.
If this is truly as blatantly out of context, the NYT should be ashamed.
