The only time MELIA has some peace & quiet from the noisy shelter is when a volunteer brings her to their car. What this darling girl needs is an adult only home! Surrounded by love. With no other dogs.

Alina Habba's plea for an en banc re-hearing over her disqualification has been rejected. The ruling that she was unlawfully appointed stands.
The 3d Circuit has denied rehearing en banc of the panel decision finding that Alina Habba had been unlawfully appointed as US Attorney. However, 3 of the 11 en banc judges would have granted rehearing, and one will later publish a dissent.

Actually I learned from @vermontgmg.bsky.social that ICE Emergency Removal Officers (ERO) and CBP officers are 1801s, not 1811s -- they are still law enforcement and have arrest authority, but it is more limited than 1811s
The Defending Democracy podcast just did a great episode about this, with @marcelias.bsky.social interviewing @asharangappa.bsky.social who is a former FBI Agent and current law professor. She explained that ICE agents are classified as “1811s” who have special arrest powers & are law enforcement.
