I was just in an AM spin class at the local gym where they played a bunch of ‘90s alternative hits, and I’ve gotta say, there’s nothing better than feeling sweat pour down my touch-of-morning-BO, old-man frame while belting out @eve6.bsky.social.

This is the perfect post.
A gay guy, a Black man, and a woman walk into a flight deck— that’s not the beginning of a joke, but just a regular day at work! There was so much DEI on this plane that we could hardly get in the air. Luckily my limp wrists were able to wrestle the heavy jet back to the ground 💅🏼

Today, my dog nipped the man who was clipping another dog’s toenails at doggy daycare. The other dog’s name? Elton John. (No, my dog’s name isn’t Bernie.)

Me too. Listened to it every Xmas as a child. Just a strangely soothing album. Surprisingly great players on it. The full-cast “Days of Xmas” absolutely slaps.
Everyone talks about The Muppets Christmas Carol as the ultimate Christmas/ Muppety experience -- but lads, you are overlooking The Muppets and John Denver - A Christmas Together.

This was the soundtrack of Christmas when I was growing up - and it's still an absolute cracker of an album. Short 🧵

All I want for Xmas is a @lizzobeeating.bsky.social/Ben Folds collab. Maybe something theatrical like “Boxing,” or “Smoke,” where the melodica part could be done on the flute.

I’ve literally watched this 10 times in the last 3 days. It reminds me what it was like to go to a small liberal arts college with kids just like these ones — and well, because it’s just pure f*cking unadulterated joy. youtu.be/vNC1W2m4Uug?...

Recently re-read the lead of the first long-form feature I ever wrote. Not too shabby for a 24-year-old kid whose music writing experience amounted to a 6-month unpaid internship at Rolling Stone and some big f*cking dreams. Pretty awesome that I got to interview and write about my hero, Jay Farrar.

Could not agree more with this assessment.
I understand the anger at insurance companies. But I'm appalled by the glorification in some quarters of the murder of Brian Thompson. Yes, he was an insurance executive, but he was also a dad and certainly didn't deserve to be executed and have people jeer at his family's loss.

Since we’re 2 days deep into my birth month December, here’s what Adam Duritz of the Counting Crows told me about his hit song “Long December”:
ME: Do you remember exactly where you were when you wrote the song?
AD: Yeah, very clearly. The first year I was living in LA, I rented this cottage…🧵

What’s the worst James Bond movie?

Let me start: Moonraker.

Didn’t have the guy who wrote about putting his tender heart in a blender being brilliant on every social platform ever on my life’s bingo card. But here we are.

People on here seem genuinely surprised that Trump is doing f*cked up shit now that he’s a month and change away from the White House. What the f*ck did you think he was going to do? Fill Washington with puppies and rainbows? If you voted for him, f*ck right the f*ck off.

Maybe New York is dead, after all. Keens, the iconic steakhouse known for the famous mutton chop you talk about ordering before getting steak instead, has been sold for a cool $30 million to Tilman Fertitta.

It has snowed in Chicago and YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS! Time to remind everyone that we light our train tracks on fire to prevent the switches from freezing.

Fun fact: After the late Charlie Colin left the band Train in 2003, he briefly went on tour with nonet Slipknot, subbing for guitarist Jim Root, after Root broke his wrist in a freak accident. His intro to the band came through the late Paul Gray, whom he met in Rotterdam while on tour with Train.

In the sage words of Austin Powers, allow myself…to introduce myself: I’m a former journalist, who specialized in general interest topics, with bylines in esteemed pubs such as Playboy, Men’s Health, and CN Traveler. I’m now a healthcare marketer, and am also writing a hybrid memoir/history book.

For people wondering about the 13-year-old boy wearing a backwards, well-worn Oregon hat and Physical Graffiti T-shirt in my profile pic, that’s me, circa 1993, when music was way f*cking better and Clinton was on the cusp of being elected president. Tamer, smarter times, to say the least.

Very Nincompoop-y to skip the apostrophe in a tweet about education, right? I suppose he could’ve reached for “Oklahomans’” too, with the plural possessive, but that would’ve required advanced grammar skills.

I’m writing this first post with my favorite Bond movie, Thunderball, playing in the background. Nothing spells comfort from the apocalyptic outside world than a little Sean Connery, jetpacking, Spectre, the Disco Volante, Largo, Domino, the Turkish Bath scene, nuclear missile theft, etc.
