Retaliating against lawyers for challenging govt action is taking a sledgehammer to the rule of law. Lawyers need to stand up loudly in protest even if they face personal risk. It’s our duty to all those clients who have entrusted us with the honor of practicing law in the first place

What could be the difference between Judge Reyes and Hegseth that could account for different standards being applied?
I’m old enough to remember when Secretary Hegseth tried to publicly mock Judge Reyes—suggesting that she didn’t know what she was doing when it comes to protecting our national security.

Statement from Boulder Progressives opposing Colorado HB25-1208 - Local Governments Tip Offsets for Tipped Employees — Boulder Progressives
We are deeply troubled that HB 25-1208 is an end-run by business owners on the careful compromises that were struck, to the detriment of hardworking hourly employees in tipped positions in Boulder, Boulder County, Denver, and Edgewater.

Who are we as a country that we tolerate this year after year after year?
This rot is so deep and and so macabre and so accommodated over decades by leaders - Mayors, Governors, both political parties, the DOJ. And we will never be a healthy democracy while this is a regular and tolerated aspect of the American criminal legal system.
