I used to be a tech enthusiast. I am becoming a tech dethusiast. I don’t want any more tech to buy. I don’t want smart appliances. I don’t want smart pants. I don’t want smart dumbbells.

I just want things that I can buy and that work for 20 years.

The Ghostbusters franchise being destroyed by shallow nostalgia is oddly meta given that the climax of the first movie features an embodiment of shallow nostalgia trying to destroy the Ghostbusters.

Amazing to me that nearly everyone's smart phone has a camera that does advanced computational photography by default, but when the Princess of Wales posts a picture on insta she's expected to have developed it herself from glass plates in the Royal Dark Room.

Visiting Dallas and my wife's bougie-magnet landed us at a very high end shopping center. Lots of: golden goose shoes, quilted hunting jackets, and aperol spritzes. Very little of: any sort of individuality or personal style.
