Every year, people mock this tree. But I love it anyway.

It reminds us that if we stand together in tough times, we can overcome anything.

Merry Christmas from my family to yours. 🎄✨

I’ve raised the threat to #Woking’s Green Belt in Parliament. I recently hosted a packed public meeting at Mayford Village Hall where residents voiced their opposition to these plans which will damage our environment.

Liberal Democrats have won more local by-elections than any other party in 2025.

In real elections up and down the country, only the Lib Dems are taking on Reform and winning.

I’ve visited @mclarenf1news.bsky.social to hear about the challenges facing automotive manufacturing in the UK and how I can best support them to ensure high-quality jobs remain here in #Woking, future - and of course, I congratulated the team on their fantastic recent success!

Sara Sharif's horrific murder in #Woking exposed how homeschooling can be exploited to conceal abuse, and shows why a national register is essential. Where there are child safeguarding concerns, the right to homeschooling must be removed - children's safety must come first.

Patients left on trolleys for hours. No privacy. No dignity.

This winter crisis did not start today and it will get worse unless social care is treated as the priority it should be.

Rejoining Erasmus is a real opportunity to start repairing the disastrous Conservative Brexit deal.

However it must be a first step on a clear roadmap to a closer relationship with Europe. Starting with negotiating a bespoke UK-EU customs union, and committing to a youth mobility scheme.

Delighted to show the winner of my Christmas Card Competition to the @commonsspeaker.parliament.uk. Well done to Rudie Maisey from St Hugh of Lincoln for winning - and thank you to all the primary school pupils across #Woking who entered!

Keir Starmer needs to stand up for the BBC against Trump's outrageous $5bn lawsuit and protect licence fee payers from being hit in the pocket.

Trump wants to interfere in our democracy and undermine our national broadcaster. We cannot let him.

The Government will finally publish a strategy to tackle violence against women and girls this week. I recently pushed the Government to urgently respond when safeguarding reports with national implications - like Sara Sharif's - are published.

I’ve been visiting the next generation across #Woking to help them understand our democracy and feel empowered to engage with politics - from Brookwood Scouts, Cubs and Beavers, Gladstone Scouts and Sheerwater Cubs, to Broadmere, Knaphill, New Monument and West Byfleet Schools.

There was standing room only at my public meeting at the weekend about plans to build on Saunders Lane in between Hook Heath and Mayford in #Woking. It was really useful to hear from the over 100 people who attended - thank you for giving up much of your Saturday!

I’ve asked the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Minister what steps the Government has taken to press Trump on a comprehensive G7 plan to seize £300bn in frozen Russian assets, including Sutton Place in #Woking, and redirect the funds to Ukraine.

Horrified by the sickening terrorist attack in Bondi Beach. My prayers are with the families of those tragically killed.

As Jewish communities come together to celebrate Hanukkah, we must stand together against violence and hate. Light will always triumph over darkness.

In my last #Woking News and Mail - column before Christmas - as well as wishing everyone a Merry Christmas - I’ve written about the lack of festive cheer in the recent budget and my hope that McLaren will celebrate their F1 wins in our town centre.

I have serious concerns about the Government's court reform proposals - including scrapping jury trials.

I challenged the Justice Secretary to publish the full impact assessment and let the Justice Committee fully scrutinise these proposals before a Bill is introduced.

Good to meet Government Minister @lucyrigby.bsky.social about Sutton Place in #Woking. I’ve pushed for this frozen Russian asset to be sold to help Ukraine, as promised by a former Deputy Prime Minister!

🚨BREAKING🚨

MPs have voted to PASS our bill to establish a UK-EU customs union.

The Prime Minister must now listen to his own MPs, drop his self-imposed red lines and finally go for proper growth through an ambitious trade deal with the EU.

I’ve talked to the #BBC about how @mclarenf1news.bsky.social’s Formula 1 success has put #Woking on the map for all the right reasons. Hopefully, McLaren will come to the town centre to celebrate their win - keen to make this a local tradition!

Liberal Democrats are calling for a 5% cut to VAT on hospitality to revitalise the high street, cut the cost of living for customers and help small businesses thrive.
