Now to capture a third, much larger ctenophore, engulfing the two. Ok just kidding. This is quite cool, thanks for sharing photo.

I know it’s true for all last-minute firings, but for NIH I have a good sense of what the collateral impacts are.

Some staff work in labs, clinics, the hospital, with important technical, service, and support roles. It’s team-based work with a long time horizon and investment.

Now broken apart.

🚨RED ALERT for 🧪:

The Trump NIH just gashed indirect costs. This is a direct attack on universities.

“Pursuant to this Supplemental Guidance, there will be a standard rate of 15% across all NIH grants for indirect costs.” 😮

Just a devastating Friday night news dump. #scicomm #academicaky

When I did a room with click laminate I noticed occasional gaps would open as I was adding new rows. So my suggestion is to bring a Bluetooth speaker and some righteous tunes to keep you sane when (or if) this happens.

I am still awestruck by the fact that I sent a little tube in the mail and a company ran 10 million sequencing reactions basically for the cost of dinner and a movie.

Yep, I just did a lecture to my biology class about the importance of peer review and proper sourcing of literature. As a demo, I fire up pubmed - 404. Skulk away.

Some days I just want to shrink myself down so that I can walk right into the endoplasmic reticulum and see what's going on.

Just received email from my SRO seeming to suggest that March 20 study section is still scheduled to happen. Would be nice to have official update from NIH, but silence.
