Just because I'm the writer/director of TADC doesn't mean I deserve all the credit for everything. There MANY times when a board artist or an animator will come up with a detail or shot that elevate the themes/characterization in a way I didn't even think of, and I'm like "fuuuuuck that's genius..."

yes! the word has been used socially to glorify and marvel at the “effortlessness” of a skill being used, especially when it comes to creative skills. not to mention “gift” being used in a religious context. it’s thought-cancelling, erasing the questions of “how did they do that? could *I* do that?”

EXACTLY. I always wanted the definition of talent to change. Simply because the way people use it implies that being talented at something requires ZERO effort for the person in question to apply it.
