Given the recent developments with Ukraine and European leaders lining up to support Zelensky, the anti-Ukraine crowd (Mearsheimer, Sachs) have pivoted to concern trolling on Ukraine being completely conquered by Russia. They know that’s not realistic and they’re arguing in bad faith.

Geopolitically, they don’t oppose Russia talking all of Ukraine, but that would strengthen NATO resolve and cooperation. Ukraine winning would lead them to joining the EU and possibly NATO, which they obviously oppose.

I think it’s important to stipulate that much of the Left has been, and will continue to be, unhelpful to Ukraine. Even the ones who oppose Russia’s invasion waffle on the question of whether Ukraine should retake all of its territories and whether they can join NATO
