Intruder (1989) - oh my god... hidden gem or what? So much fun. Delicious vibes. Gorgeously shot. Go in blind if you can (don't look up any posters!) and soak up the slasher goodness

GDT's Frankenstein - full thoughts coming on WhatCulture Horror later but I found it to be such a frustrating mixed bag. Some bizarre expansions on Shelley's text that end up distracting from the timelessness of its central throughline, and I Simply Have No Idea what Oscar Isaac was doing either

Ok it's actually a bit ridiculous how much you can track my own mental wellbeing based on how many movies I've been watching (hint: September was BAAAD lmao)

Cursed streaming service update: just tried to watch Lair of the White Worm on Jeff Bezos' clown machine and it's legit just playing The Limey. Like, I love The Limey, but uhhh, where's the worm 😭

Thought Play Dirty was better than I feared it would be but also the only thing more jarring than Mark Wahlberg as Parker is a Parker movie that has a car chase in an electric SUV

Some Tuesday nights are for taking stock of how far you've come and having a bit of a cry about it, I suppose

Quick update for why I haven't been so active on here lately - and just a heads up that I'm ok! - my nan passed away last month and an abundance of life stuff has come up in and around it. I'm still out here, and feel *so* much better than I was last year, but social media isn't taking up my time rn

Got a cheeky Amazon voucher to blow today! Can't decide between getting The Man from Laramie or The Swimmer on Blu-ray (both new watches). Help, amigos!

I hope I don't sound naïve here, but I don't think this project to turn Charlie Kirk into a combination of Mr. Rogers and Gandhi is going to work

It's not lost on me in the midst of this eulogizing and memorializing a monster that my home state, Florida, has made it a crime to commemorate or remember the victims of the Pulse massacre.

In America, only some deaths are considered grievable. The rest of us are just "collateral damage."

Been a hot minute since I last visited High Plains Drifter and I gotta tell ya - this is pure celluloid wrath and death and it's the best.

Worth remembering that Terence Stamp was the son of a ship's stoker.

Stamp desperately wanted to act, after falling in love with movies as a kid, and it was a scholarship to Drama School that allowed him to walk that path.

Every time arts cuts are made, they rob us of more Terence Stamps.

Hi!! I've done a Big Vid on the joys of physical media and the little rituals that go into fostering a connection with The Movies for @whatculture.bsky.social (Ft a lot of gushing over @arrowvideo.bsky.social, @secondsightfilms.bsky.social and @88films.bsky.social!)
