On this day in 1983 Taylor Jenkins Reid was born.

Before becoming a famous writer, Reid worked in the LA film industry in casting and writing. She shot to fame with several novels published in the 2010s and 2020s. Her books are popular in our libraries!

Hughes was one of Britain's most famous poets and novelists. His poetry was mostly themed around nature, wildlife and Yorkshire dialect.

On this day in 1870 Hector Hugh Munroe, better known as his pen name, Saki was born. The son of a policemen in present day Myanmar, he became a famous short story writer. Critics and readers loved how he satirised Edwardian society.
