Thanks to all who joined us at the first ever Birmingham Fungi Festival, and to the experts, artists and staff who led the day's walks, talks and crafts! It was brilliant to engage people with the wonderful wealth of fungi to be found in the heart of Birmingham - urban nature at its very best!

It's #FungiFriday! Not as many around as I'd hoped in Solihull and Surrey (in Alice Holt @southdownsnp.bsky.social), but it has been very dry! Some surprise coral, a handful of waxcaps, troops of false death caps, and a lone panther cap. #fungi #mushroom #mycology #nature #FungiFriends

Nice to see what our neighbours in Warwickshire are up to
Out on Grendon Common in N.Warks with VC38 fungus group today. Fungus pics not mine but shared by a friend because my new PC or camera keep deciding that I have to format the SD card :-(. Keep losing pics. Some great species seen on this ex colliery site. @britmycolsoc.org.uk
