Whenever you hear someone sneer about scientific research that seems useless to them — “they’re studying the spit of lizards?!” — remind them that’s exactly how we got Ozempic.

Combining my two favorite things, neurodegeneration and genetics research 🧠 🧬! Very cool case studies and implications! 🧪
Why am I so personally hopeful that #Downsyndrome -associated #Alzheimer's disease is preventable? It's because of two case studies of people with Ds, who happened to be born *without* a triplication of their Amyloid Precursor Protein (APP) gene and never developed dementia during their lives. Scientists, academics, researchers: We’re excited to share that @altmetric.com is now tracking mentions of your research on Bluesky! 🧪
There are already many articles for which there is more attention on Bluesky than on other comparable micro-blogging sites, meaning the academic community and the general public have clearly adopted Bluesky as one of its core places to disseminate and discuss new research.

A Place of Joy.
