We're told one of these land uses is 'productive', while the other is not.

But in terms of photosynthetic levels, as well as the production of clean air, water, no flooding, a stable climate, etc, etc, the natural ecosystem wins hands down.

As for biodiversity, let's not even go there.

a BOLD CLAIM!
Fascinating conversation.
Halfway through, my brain is still spinning round the idea that life, (or code,) that copy's itself, is more stable.
So evolution of complex life, may be said to obey the second law of thermodynamics.
What do you think?

How old is the old Holloway from the straights of Dover, past Stonehenge, to seaton?
Why Seaton?
Unless that route led to a now submerged land route, to seal hunting as the sea ice wasn't far off the NW coast of Ireland? 🏺
I suspect the route, is older than Britain being an island.

There is a key moral distinction between immigration policy on new arrivals, no matter how draconian, and on people who have already been granted status, on set conditions. It is about being a country that keeps its word. If we're not that, we might as well fucking give up now.

I wrote this back in March but I think it's important now more than ever to understand competitive authoritarianism--and the concrete steps that can be used to fight back against it. It's going to be difficult, but it's not a lost cause--and the fight is worth it. I explain the best strategies here:
Is American democracy doomed?
How to understand the concept of "competitive authoritarianism" and why it's crucial to push back now to avoid it.

For context: a Gt of water is a billion metric tons, or one cubic kilometre.
So with a little rough maths, 5000km³ of water, would cover the area of Texas in waters 7.1 meters deep
This is how the Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) & Fossil Fuel Pollution story goes…
