Happy 276th birthday Edward Jenner! What a time for vaccination: 154 million lives saved in the last 50 years, tempered with an increase in vaccine preventable diseases across the world, vaccine sceptics in charge in the US, and cuts to overseas aid threatening global immunisation programmes.

“And yet most of the actual policy could have been presented with the opposite inflection. The emphasis could have been on Britain’s historical record of successfully integrating migrant communities and the vast economic and cultural contribution they have made.”

Hugely misleading headline in the Daily Mail. This only applies to Indian workers who are seconded to the UK from a company based in India on a short term basis. India nationals applying for jobs based in the UK will not benefit from this convention and it does not disadvantage UK workers

This is Lord Rothermere the owner of the Daily Mail.

He lives in a massive mansion in the English countryside, but he pays no tax here because he identifies as French.

While the Daily Mail is registered in Bermuda and pays no tax anywhere.

Horrible. Jeanette Vizguerra, an activist, one of Time’s “100 most influential people” in 2017 has been grabbed by ICE. She's being held at the GEO Group for-profit detention facility where allies are gathering.

Her young teenage kids have launched a GoFundMe: www.gofundme.com/f/4ekfk-help...
🚨ICE ALERT🚨She's a mom. An organizer. She worked with SEIU. She is a member of the Unitarian Church I've attended in Denver. In many respects, she's a lot like me. And like all of us, she deserves to due process, dignity & the ability to work & dream for a better future

It’s disgusting & terrifying. And America has been here before.

Wow. Imagine the shock for the Daily Mail when it finds out Tory plans were for fines of £5k - later reduced to £3k - for each missed heat pump sale. What Ed Miliband has done is to reduce that to £500. As @torstenbell.bsky.social says today Headline should read “Miliband slashes Tory boiler tax”
