They lied about it. All of it. A thug cop shot an unarmed woman five times without justification, boasted about it to his colleagues, and then this administration tried cover it all up by arresting her and charging her with felonies.
Absolutely incredible; after shooting Marimar Martinez 5 times and arresting her on claims that she rammed them and pulled a gun, prosecutors have now moved to dismiss ALL criminal charges against her and her codefendant.
New: the govt has moved to dismiss its assault case against Marimar Martinez and Anthony Ian Santos Ruiz, two people accused of "box[ing] in" a Border Patrol vehicle in Chicago on Oct. 4.

One agent shot Martinez, with evidence presented to the court that he later bragged about in text messages.

Produced a really interesting interview with Hayden Pedigo on his newest solo LP, his Chat Pile collab and making a "record store album," moving away from Texas, making art first and finding the meaning later, becoming a dad! What a great guy and great Q&A by @laurarice.bsky.social: txst.us/yi13a9

Predictable but still amazing to watch people who spent literally years accusing every librarian, teacher, and trans person they could find of sexually grooming children suddenly throw themselves in with "actually it's ephebophilia"
Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."

🧵 A long-running access fight at The Cutoff—a former branch of the Trinity River in East Texas—just got a new twist.

The Cutoff has been a public fishing & hunting spot for decades.

Then in early 2022, landowner Phillip Surls fenced off entry from public access along FM 1667. txst.us/66mgcz
