Took a weekend trip up to Portland to enjoy the fresh hops and I’m happy to report it’s still the beautiful Portland I know and love. Reports of it being “over” and/or a “warzone” have been greatly exaggerated. Haters gonna hate.

A nice piece cataloguing the trajectory of lambic in the U.S. by @aarongoldfarb.bsky.social on @vinepair.com. One thing I’d add is that the momentary infatuation with lambics got a lot of people into brewing who would found breweries. Most have shifted focus away from mixed ferm.

I really want to see an improvement under Ben Johnson. There were flashes in this game but it still feels like we’ve got way too many weaknesses.
