Gulf of Mexico is a satirical language with unusual rules. To declare a function you can use any letters from the word function in order like f or fun or functio. Arrays begin at minus one. Loops are removed.

What’s something you changed your mind about in recent years? I’m curious to hear everyone’s perspective.
For me, it was realizing that slowing down often leads to better work and a clearer mind, not less progress.

What’s one piece of technology you feel nostalgia for, even if it wasn’t "better"?

Not the stuff that objectively improved your life.
The stuff that felt different: slower, stranger, more alive, more yours.
Weird ones too.

New revelation today, the old internet felt special because it was small.

Niche communities made it feel alive.
They still exist, just buried under algorithms, influencers, and corporate sites.

The magic didn’t die, it just got hidden.

Working across various domains and having to switch programming languages for all of them, reimplement features, has become too much of a mental task. I am seriously considering creating a custom language or at least a transpiler with multiple backends.

A university switched IT vendors. 12 days later, 1.8 TB of data leaked.
630 000 files: student info, HR docs, bank details.
People inside warned it might happen.
Cybersecurity isn’t just about hackers. It’s about who gets ignored.

Not every day is about progress.
Sometimes it’s about staying curious, cleaning the mental tools, and trusting that small effort adds up.

What do you do when inspiration feels far away?

Inspiration isn’t lightning.
It’s the quiet work of tending to small details until something starts to glow.

Keep showing up. The light finds you when you do.

Some days are not about big wins.
They are about small steps that make life a little more yours.

Perfection never arrives all at once.
It grows with you.

Celebrate what works today. Tomorrow will be better.

Trying to stay private online in 2025 feels like role-playing as a criminal.
VPN? Suspicious.
VOIP number? Flagged.
Refusing to give a phone? “Come back when you’re trustworthy.”

Digital minimalism is not about deleting apps.
It is about deleting noise.

You can uninstall half your phone and still stay distracted.
Focus on clarity, not emptiness.

Why algorithmic feeds destroy your taste:

They do not show you what you like, only what you will click.
Over time you forget how to explore.

Taste used to mean discovery. Now it means compliance.

Unplug from the loop. Follow humans, not systems.

I have changed my working environment into something new. Disabled all distractions. No notifications, no start menu buttons, no clock. Since I began doing this something incredible started happening. Hours passed by being lost in the flow. I didn’t think I would experience that feeling again.

Does anyone remember the old internet? It can't be all nostalgia. There seem to be more creative content creators and genuine connection on lesser known platform right now. There used to be a sense of excitement from discovering new places. It wasn't all about generating income or becoming famous.
