Dated to about 70 AD, this iron stylus pen was found in London during excavations by MOLA. 📷 MOLA

This week’s object is a Roman brooch in the rare form of a lion, which would have been brightly coloured with enamel, of which blue traces survive. A fastening spring and pin is hidden behind the plate.
The brooch is dated to the later Roman period, AD200-300.
