Near Death
On April 14, 2024, I was involved in a severe crash while cycling, resulting in extensive injuries. This post includes regular updates to my recovery progress.

Updated / edited this many times over the past 18 months - one long post now. Pinning it to my profile for posterity. Essentially, I was severely injured by a careless driver in April 2024, while cycling.

Our landlord/property mgmt co planned a rent increase as soon as we'd been here a year. We bought and foiled that plan. They have since posted our place for what we pay, well above the average for a 2BR in Victoria. Hoping the market forces them to reduce their greed.

This entire fiasco has always been about what they could sell the birds for. Most of their supporters are vax-hesitant or antivax, so the notion that they want to study them for their herd immunity properties is laughable. Their definition of CFIA overreach is actually opposition to health policy.

This budget has zero short-term pain management, is totally focused on the long-term, but almost completely devoid of decent environmental protections.

Shandy met her doppelganger, "Lorelai" on this morning's walk. However, Shandy is a compact 45 lbs, and Lorelai is the "runt" of her litter, who will likely hit a paltry 100 lbs.

A very brief update to mark 18 months since my crash. Everything is fine, fitness is good, but getting my splenectomy abdominal incisional hernia repaired is absolutely a gong show, as I wait for not only a second CT scan, but also a #colonoscopy.
