Deactivated Instagram, Threads, and, after nearly 20 years, FB. After I’m confident of my backups they’ll be deleted. I’ll be weening myself off Messenger and WhatsApp next. Zuck’s lost the plot and my business. I can choose to not be a cog in an unjust, unethical, and immoral machine. Facts matter.
Two quick wins for the Australian government.
1. Ban card surcharges. Cash is dying. There shouldn't be a charge for using cards.
2. Ban multi-item discounts. Forcing me to buy two boxes of Shapes to get the discount should be illegal. Prohibit conditional multi-buy pricing!

Among all the other epistemological harms caused by the hasty & uncritical adoption of these tools, it feels much riskier to collaborate with other people unless you all can firmly agree on whether languaging tools just make documents with relevant language or somehow magically make "knowledge".

I wish Apple would ban @jamfsoftware.bsky.social from being installed on its systems. Jamf basically allows Macs to function like PC's in 2004, restarting randomly and without notice. Also, the MS Word update is not THAT urgent.
