An article from this for the #DHmakes crowd
“In learning how to unpick or tighten their stitches, or if needed, start over again by cutting the thread and re-stitching from the beginning, they [students] learn productive, iterative failure.”

The whitewashing of white supremacists by the NYT extends beyond the politics desk: Brigitte Bardot, a star-& virulent racist-dies:

NYT vs Le Monde.

Headline “renounced stardom” vs “sympathy for far right”

Subhed: “devote her life to animal welfare” vs “ Convicted 5 x for racist remarks”

Our world will be vastly better when we raise boys who know that men do indeed take "no" for an answer.

Anyone with power/money/influence serious about women's safety needs to campaign/legislate against nudify apps, deepfakes, and slop avatars. Toxic masculinity and online radicalization have been fuelling misogyny for years. Now they have more tools. Fight these instead of monstrifying trans people.
"And I never say no"

We need to have a serious talk about the way "AI companion" apps not only prey on the vulnerable, but are priming their users to ignore consent and to conflate love with control.

We need AI regulations across so many sectors, but this area is particularly horrifying.

Weird how “American nationalists” get mad at immigrants dying to work hard and be American, but not at the super rich guys who are in Epstein’s little black book and would throw away their loyalty to this country to avoid taxes

We had congressional hearings when parents just suspected heavy metal was leading some kids to suicide.
i don’t see how any of the benefits of chatgpt and other consumer-facing LLMs can possibly outweigh their incredible ability to induce suicides
Adam Raine’s life hurtled toward tragedy soon after he began talking with ChatGPT about homework. Analysis of his ChatGPT account shows how the chatbot became a confidant as he planned to end his life.

Battle of Seattle was in 1999, Iraq war protests were massive after that, occupy and blm after that. there are so many through lines. these are the currents that carried sanders, that elected the squad and now zohran. keep going.
I’ve said it and I believe it is true

There is a willful forgetting and suppression of the memory of the hundreds of protests that shook this nation for the past decade and a half. So while Canadians and European laypeople whine “Americans don’t do anything,” the Americans are actively suppressed

one thing that sunk only more fully in, being sick with covid again, is how people position those of us who never stopped masking as having some weird individual vibes-based fear, when the reality is the end of what *community-level* covid prevention
and care infrastructure there was is why we mask

Guys who claim to be "free speech absolutists" suing for defamation. Keeps happening.

Read the complaint. It's ridiculously weak. Doesn't even attempt to show actual malice. Repeatedly cites opinion statements as if they're factual.

Even figured out how to give this category of posts their own RSS feed!

(So please let me know if this name is the Worst! Name! Ever! now, before I start using it in practice.)

Definitely recommend the Anti-Planner, whether you're neurospicy or just enjoy novelty!

(Having the activities as PDFs also helped me personally stress less about whether I'd want to draw in my paper copy, btw!)
Make 2026 the year you stop shaming yourself for struggling to get stuff done.

Try something designed for inconsistent brains that need novelty (not repetitive pages)! ✏️
