Got a native Godot app to host a game instance and communicate over WebSockets to multiple React web app players. Designed as a platform to easily add new types of games. Quite a stack of tech. Godot, C#, ASP.NET, JWT, SignalR, Azure, SQL Server, React/Vite, TanStack Router, shadcd/ui. #gamedev

GameDev Update. Did some device and websocket testing.

Bad News. HTML exported Godot games are really buggy on mobile browsers. I'm switching to traditional web tech for the the participants. Won't be able to "write once, run everywhere". Will have to use React, HTMX, or something.

My latest Godot adventure. Room code based WebSocket messaging over the actual internet (not localhost). Uses Azure AppService and WebPubSub to auth and manage the channels. Simple chat app for now. New JackBoxTV style game prototype coming soon. #gamedev #godot

Spending the day debugging a crashing ffmpeg process made from C# on Azure Functions through WSL2 on Windows in Visual Studio. It's abstractions all the way down. 🐢🐢 🫠

Thinking about when I saw this at the park with no one around. My kids had some interesting theories about what happened here.

Godot's GDScript normally allows both typed and untyped variables. However, if you want to enforce ONLY typed (static), here's how! #godot #godotengine #gamedev

Here's a hit of 90s gaming & internet nostalgia. My parents cleared out some boxes and gave me some of my old stuff which included a stack a gaming magazines.

We recently took family photos. The wife and kids looked great! But we all agreed on who the real star was.

ChatGPT can be so wrong and frustrating but also ridiculously helpful sometimes. Today it was a good bot for helping me use ffmpeg.
