What we're seeing are the death throes of a dying empire, flailing too late to recover, and doubling down on the behavior that doomed it in the first place. And now shaking up ties with Europe, which knows it's better off shifting to the emerging Eastern financial system than sinking with the ship.

I've long suspected that many congress creatures and executive administrations have crawled out of such a swamp in order to give the CIA the run of the show for decades, as they shape policy around protecting capital, with a well-oiled propaganda apparatus to keep up the illusion going.
