In a recent statement, Norm Schinkel, co-chair of the Ingham County Republican Party, said:
"In normal people, I mean Republicans, people that pay their taxes, they enjoy what's happening right now. They sleep better at night. Knowing our government is finally having someone look at it [the government]."
This statement raises some serious questions for me that the reporter should have asked him to clarify:
Is this ignorance, arrogance, reckless rhetoric, or a calculated attempt to divide and "other" anyone who isn’t Republican? Is Schenkel too blind to see how Trump’s policies are hurting his own community, does he care about his neighbors? Or is he fully complicit in pushing this rhetoric? Is he pushing this narrative because he believes it, because it serves him, or because he thinks no one will question it? All of the above? And if this was just a “poor choice of words,” why does it sound exactly like what he meant?

I sincerely don’t know why people aren’t physically stopping those dorks. Move shit. Lock doors. Lose the keys. Everyone switch seats. Turn off all the lights. Switch the signs on the elevator lobby. Make the settings all silly. Use a different language. Wear costumes. Fill rooms with balloons
