Screenshot me now: The Deckard is going to be a bonafide x86 PC in an inside-out HMD form factor. And Valve is going to sell it as an open system like the Deck.

Mod makers rejoice: The Team Fortress 2 SDK has arrived! We've updated the Source SDK with all of TF2's client and server game code. Change, extend, or rewrite TF2, and publish them as mods on Steam. www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=...

RT @BeardoBenjoYT: The CRYSIS VR mod is another fantastic example of VR modding edging ever closer to feeling like full, built for VR native experiences!

If we keep getting classics like this converted lovingly into VR then I'll never run out of things to play ♥️

a horrifying precedent

this suggests the PS6 wont have a disc drive. full reliance on streaming. ie: you won't own anything with permanence; its locked to a service, and it can be pulled if they deem it

also RIP miniDisc, you were loved by all who knew you 💽

After 18 years, Sony's Blu-ray media production draws to a close — shuts its last factory in Feb
MiniDiscs for recording, MD data for recording, and MiniDV cassettes will also be abandoned.

VR is covered with the 5090 in this review. Once again, ~30% uplift on raw performance. On an HTC Vive Pro, though. Would be good to see a higher resolution headset and OpenVR Benchmark included.

Despite Zuck's best efforts to make the entire concept HIDEOUSLY uncool, it seems VR is still on the rise, if you take the *actual* metaverse as any kind of barometer.
