Always felt like great fodder for one of those acting exercises where you emphasize a different word every time you say the line. It is right to give HIM thanks and praise? It IS right to give him thanks and praise!

the best thing is how well these folks line up with common high school marching band stereotypes. look at all these white nerds in glasses rounding out the low brass. look at this drummer who's too cool for gloves. they are my family and i love them
brass solidarity band performing “stand by me” in the streets of whittier next to alex pretti’s memorial. the crowd started chanting “the people united will never be defeated” so they incorporated it into the song. i love minneapolis

It’s disgusting that Tony Kushner had to stand up to a man who was saying Renee Good got what was coming to her. But without that happening we might never have known that he needlepoints pillows with scenes from The Shining
As long as I'm sharing Tony's non-writing work, these are two of my favorites--a birthday present he made for me in 2018. Needless to say, I treasure these.
