Emergency funding exists for exactly this kind of crisis. If the reality of 42 million Americans going hungry, including 1.4 million Michiganders, isn’t an emergency, I don’t know what is.

Happy First Responders Day, Michigan! Bravery deserves backup — and this year’s budget delivers. We made critical investments in the equipment, training, and resources our first responders need to do their jobs safely and effectively.

🧵This was a very lean budget year, but I was able to secure some badly needed infrastructure improvements and firefighter equipment.

I am proud to have worked with Matt Sahr and the MPFFU to secure $130,000 for the City of Eastpointe firefighters, Roseville Community Schools to secure $800,000

It’s been 24 years since the deadliest terror attack in our nation’s history, which took nearly 3,000 lives and injured thousands more. We will never forget the horror and tragedy we felt as a nation on September 11, 2001, but everyday, we work to rebuild as a stronger, more united America.

The House GOP budget is nothing more than a copy-cat of Trump's big ugly bill for Michigan - slashing billions of dollars from services people rely on every day. Michiganders deserve a budget that helps them thrive, and we won't stop fighting until we reach a deal that accomplishes that goal.
